“When I do go to that vulnerable place and I reach into what I feel in my gut then that’s when I write my best music”

Born in Bellshill, Glasgow, the singer-songwriters career launched during lockdown when she started to upload covers to YouTube from her bedroom. The audience seemed to love them and her following grew from there. The anticipation grew online for Rianne to release her own original music and so in February 2021 the artist released her first single “Fuel To The Fame” and from here things have gone from strength to strength with Rianne’s debut EP vinyl release selling out in a week.

In November 2022, Rianne was awarded the Breakthrough Artist of The Year at the Scottish Music Awards. In 2023, the Scottish singer-songwriter performed with music legend Paul Heaton and The Beautiful South on his sell out UK tour including performing on the main stage at TRNSMT.

Rianne has just completed a UK headline tour for her and recently performed on Children In Need for BBC Scotland.

“Songwriting is definitely a release for me its kind of like my own personal therapy in a way”

In her Riverside Music TV interview, Rianne explains that her journey into songwriting was not only a creative outlet but a form of personal therapy. The vulnerability she embraces while reaching into the depths of her emotions becomes the catalyst for her most compelling music. While she had dabbled in songwriting before, it was during the songwriting class at Riverside Music College that she discovered her natural knack for crafting songs. The lockdown period became a transformative time for her, where she found solace in her guitar, her voice and the time to express herself as an artist.

“When you’re performing and you’re singing songs that you wrote when you were feeling very vulnerable, people in the crowd tend to take to that as well because it’s so genuine, they start to feel what you’re feeling and hopefully relate to the song”

Rianne discusses bringing a genuine and heartfelt experience to the audience when performing live. The vulnerability embedded in her songs resonates with the crowd, creating a connection that goes beyond music. The authenticity in her performance allows the audience to feel the same emotions she poured into the creation of the song.

Join us in this intimate session as Rianne shares not just her music, but the profound stories behind her songs, inviting you to connect with the very essence of her artistry.
